The weekend just gone saw me performing at a 50th birthday party at a tennis club in Chiswick. I arrived at the venue around 30 minutes early as I always prefer to take my time setting up whenever possible, only to find confusion as I found the venue but there was no apparent vehicle entrance! So then spent 45 minutes driving around trying to locate where I could enter. Tried calling them but no answer just a voicemail.
Eventually I got through to the client and it transpired there wasn’t a driveway or any way of getting a vehicle in. You had to park nearby and then walk up and down various steps to get into the club itself! This was particularly welcome with a van full of sound & lighting equipment!
Anyway, managed to get everything in with some help from the client and one of his friends. It was a very friendly crowd, mostly over 40 and the music requested reflected that, so lot’s of upfront Dubstep and Trance all night! 
Onto the ongoing search for a new venue for Groovers Korner; Having a meeting tomorrow at The Paradise in Kensal Green. So hopefully that will go well and I can start planning the future dates for Groovers Korner again, which will be handy because there have been a lot of enquiries recently as to when the next one is.
